            Walnuts, bittersweet chocolate and sambuca. You’ll get a kick out of these

Ossi di Morto - Dead Man’s Bones

From Tuscany – get the name from the alabaster color and brittleness. Originally local bakeries in Tuscany served these cookies on October 31, the eve of all Saints Day but now they can be found in Tuscany all year long.

INGREDIENTS: cake flour, butter, sugar, egg whites, ground hazelnuts, ground almonds, vanilla extract, lemon zest.

 

Sesame Cookies

Chocolate Macadamia Nut Biscotti

Called “Ecce Panis” – “Behold the Bread” – This biscotti is packed with macadamia nuts. They are irresistible. Biscotti are “twice baked” hard cookies for dipping in wine or coffee.

INGREDIENTS: semisweet chocolate, butter, flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt, eggs, sugar, rum, vanilla extract, macadamia nuts.

 

Italian Chocolate Spice Cookies

A soft lightly frosted cookie flavored with allspice, cloves, cinnamon and chocolate.

INGREDIENTS: sugar, butter, milk, eggs, flour, baking powder, cocoa, salt, allspice, cinnamon.

Heart Sugar Cookies 

These heart shaped cookies consist of a bottom cookie with a hint of anise flavor and the top cookie with a hint of orange flavor. In between the layers is a thin layer of chocolate hazelnut spread. 

INGREDIENTS: butter, sugar, orange extract, vanilla extract, anise extract, Anisette, egg, milk, flour, baking powder, salt, chocolate, hazelnut.

Parma Chocolate Cookies

            Similar to a thumbprint cookie with chocolate, raspberry and hazelnuts.

INGREDIENTS: butter, sugar, salt, semisweet chocolate, flour, hazelnuts, seedless raspberry jam.

 

Italian Love Knot Cookies 

Flavored with vanilla and almond, tied in a loose knot and baked, decorated with sprinkles. These cookies come in red, green and yellow.

INGREDIENTS: butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, almond extract, milk, vegetable oil, flour, baking powder, food coloring.
